I bet your credit card statement is overflowing with monthly subscriptions. This week, I’m asking you to add another by becoming a paid member of Finocchio.
I know, I know. But here’s why Finocchio is different, and why it is (in my humble opinion) worth your coin.
1️⃣ You’re supporting indie (not corporate) media
The majority of our media comes from huge outlets that are, more often than not, owned by corporations or billionaires. I’ve written for some of those publications, and they can be quite excellent. But at the end of the day, the interests of their wealthy owners can get in the way (anyone remember the blocked WaPo endorsement of Kamala Harris?)
Finocchio, on the other hand, is an independent, tiny operation (it’s just me! hi!) without any pesky corporate imperatives.
2️⃣ You’re supporting storytelling you won’t find anywhere else
The types of stories I’m publishing here would make the Gray Lady blush. Honestly, as a freelancer writer, I know I simply could not publish many of these stories in mainstream publications. The unabashed spiciness and queer joy thrives in the pages of indie pubs like this.
3️⃣ This isn’t a monthly subscription
It’s annual! 🤪 Okay, but seriously, this makes a difference. I’m only offering annual subscriptions going forward, because I’m building something for the long-term. When you join Finocchio, you don’t just get my newsletter: You join a community, and community takes more than a month to build.
Still not sure? Here are some of my best spicy stories you could be reading, in all their lewd detail, right now with a paid subscription:
Normally, a year of Finocchio costs $75, but during the Finocchio Fund Drive (ending April 15!) it’s only $50. For a whole year of membership. I’m offering this discount as I try to hit my goal of 60 paid subscribers, which will get me on the road to making this newsletter financially sustainable.
Help me get there?
