My first stop was a dingy-but-delightful gay bathhouse. But my second was something quite different: A long weekend at a rural gay retreat center, where my sexuality could bloom without shame.
I truly did not know what I was in for when I signed up. But what I found there was something so magically queer and liberating that it felt almost surreal.
